This hybrid course (12-hrs in person and 10-hrs continuing education course examines an array of sex anomaly disorders and mental illness disorders with which a PT, OT or speech patient may present as comorbidity. As part of the course, we will discuss common medical interventions provided to patients with a variety of sex anomaly and mental illness disorders. We will also explore the implications of a variety of sex anomaly disorders and mental illness disorders on the provision of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Case scenarios of patients with one or more of these disorder will be emphasized.
Teaching and learning methods include lecture, discussion, and small group and whole group case scenarios.
