examine a variety of sex anomaly disorders (e.g., Klinefelter's syndrome, androgen insensitivity syndrome, congenital malformations of genital organs) with which a therapy patient present as a comorbidity;
explore common medical interventions provided to patients with a variety of "sex disorders" and explore their implications on physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy;
explore strategies patients use to self-address a variety of sex disorders;
examine a variety of mental illness disorders (e.g., abuse of non-dependence producing substances, anxiety, body dysmorphia, depression, factitious disorder imposed on another [formerly Munchausen syndrome by proxy], gender identity disorder, PTSD, transsexualism) with which a therapy patient present as a comorbidity;
explore common medical interventions provided to patients with a variety of mental health disorders, including psychotropic medications and mental health therapy and their implications on physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy;
explore strategies patients use to self-address a variety of "sex disorders" and mental disorders
discuss how "sex disorders" and mental illness comorbidities can impact a patient's ability to participate in, progress , and benefit from the physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy;

Case scenarios are interwoven throughout the course.
Teaching and learning methods include lecture, discussion, and small group and whole group case scenarios.
The cost of $300 includes written materials, but does not include lodging or meals.
This is a hybrid course. 12 hours are in-person and 10 hours are online. (22 CE hours total)
The only other course you'll need to complete to renew your license is a 2-hour course in Medical Errors, which can be online.
